![]() Rather than having to create individual mattes for each layer than needs to be matted, users can now apply a single matte layer to multiple target layers. Use any layer of a composition as a track matteĪfter Effects 23.0 reworks the way that matte layers work, with a new Track Matte drop-down menu in the Timeline panel making it possible to define any layer as a track matte. The update was one of several to Adobe’s Creative Cloud tools announced at Adobe MAX 2022, including Character Animator 23.0 and Photoshop 24.0, along with the official release of Substance 3D Modeler. The latest beta build of the software, released in parallel with the stable version, gets support for OpenColorIO colour management, and the option to import 3D models directly into After Effects. ![]() The release overhauls workflow for matte layers, making it possible to use any layer as a track matte, and adds native, hardware-accelerated H.264 encoding, plus 50 new animation presets for motion graphics. This issue has been doing the rounds for a few months and you can find several workarounds on YouTube including downgrading to version 22.3.Adobe has released After Effects 23.0, the latest version of the compositing software. I really appreciate the feedback but I've been using After Effects for 15 years and know a bug from a limitation. This new issue will render only two frames regardless of preview resolution and return the same specific error that so many here have reported since version 22.4. Previously I've used even larger comps with less RAM with no RAM preview issues besides the expected limitations. This issue happens across multiple projects and only over the last three months. So just 11 shape layers and a black solid with no effects, just animated paths with four keyframes on each of the 11 layers in a 2160 x 2880 comp. ![]() I recreated the problem today from a project that was reduced to just the timeline you see. I'm not using any of those large comps in the timeline I'm RAM previewing from. ![]() I really appreciate the lengths you've gone to but the variables you list are not the issue: ![]()
